About the event
Keeping It Regulated
A Regulation Workshop for Moms & Elementary-Aged Kids
Big feelings can show up in big ways—shutting down, yelling, crying, getting wiggly or restless, becoming overwhelmed, or reacting before we have time to think. Understanding what is happening underneath those reactions can help both kids and adults respond differently.
Keeping It Regulated is an interactive workshop for moms and their elementary-aged children to learn about emotional and behavioral regulation together.
Families will explore what dysregulation is, why it happens, how it can show up in our bodies and behavior, and what we can do when we notice it happening. Rather than simply telling kids to "calm down," this workshop gives families practical ways to recognize when their bodies and brains are becoming overwhelmed—and tools they can practice together to help return to regulation.
Through movement, breathing, mindfulness, hands-on activities, and regulation stations, moms and kids will have opportunities to practice regulation skills…
