Service Description

This empowering 4-week group helps children learn that their body belongs to them, their voice matters, and they have the right to say no. Using interactive games, role-play, and art, kids will practice recognizing safe vs unsafe touch, learn the importance of consent, and identify trusted adults in their lives. Moms receive language and strategies to reinforce these lessons at home. By the end, children leave with confidence in their ability to protect themselves, and families leave with shared tools to keep reinforcing body safety and respect.

These workshops and groups are not a substitute for legal advice, clinical counseling, or other professional services. We encourage all participants to continue seeking support from qualified attorneys, licensed counselors, and other professionals as needed for your individual circumstances. Our groups are designed as educational and supportive spaces where mothers and children can learn new skills, practice healthy communication, and try out empowering strategies together. This is a non-pathologizing environment, built specifically for families navigating emotional abuse, coercive control, post-separation abuse, and other abusive dynamics that too often remain minimized or ignored. Abuse in all its forms thrives in silence. These groups are intentionally created to break that silence by offering women and children a safe, honest space to connect with others who understand, while exploring practical tools to strengthen resilience, restore connection, and reclaim voice. We recognize the ongoing challenges many families face when their realities are pathologized, misunderstood, or used against them in court and other systems. Our founder, a therapist who stepped away from the licensure path after witnessing these harms firsthand, created these workshops as an alternative support rooted in truth, resilience, and mother–child connection. Here, we start from the belief that we trust you as the expert of your own experience, and our role is to walk alongside you as you and your children practice healthier ways forward. Our groups are offered in closed-group dynamics to prioritize safety and wellbeing of all. The fee includes all 4 sessions and is collected at the time of registration. If you are interested in participating, but need us to charge you weekly, please contact us at admin@facing-giants.com to get that set up. We look forward to walking beside you in these unfortunate realities and hope to sprinkle some encouragement and autonomy amidst the chaos. :)
